ESTABLISHMENT: PlumpJack Winery
POSITION TITLE: Sales Associate - Tasting Room
REPORTS TO: Tasting Room Manager

Work as part of a team to support Tasting Room operations in a manner that achieves the established financial goals, ensures a rich customer experience, builds customer loyalty and reflects the brand essence. Principal functions include cash register operations, product knowledge, sales and service.

Essential Duties:

  • Prepares the tasting room for opening and closing daily.
  • Presents selected wines for tasting and assist consumers with their purchases.
  • Operates cash registers and credit card terminals accurately and efficiently.
  • Processes phone orders and wine shipping orders in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Stocks merchandise and supplies as needed.
  • Participate in daily inventories.
  • Checks identification as required by state regulation for serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Recognizes the symptoms of intoxication and informs a manager.
  • Represents the company and brand, professionally, graciously and enthusiastically.
  • Ability to multi task

Experience and Skills Required:

High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Cash Register experience preferred. Serving or bartending experience helpful.

Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service. Strong verbal communication skills. Courteous, friendly and professional manner. Good team player. Customer service & sales focus. Trustworthy and reliable. Must be able to talk in front of large groups. Ability to work weekends and adapt to a flexible schedule.


JOB TITLE:
National Sales Manager
DEPARTMENT:
PlumpJack Winery & CADE Winery
REPORTS TO:
General Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The National Sales Manager (NSM) for PlumpJack and CADE Wineries is responsible for all domestic sales (FOB and California Wholesale) utilizing an extensive Broker and Domestic distribution system as established. Due to the limited production and high demand of both brands there is a sales emphasis of high profile "A" accounts of a minimum of 60% on-premise and 40% off-premise. NSM will develop an annual sales plan which will include: Sales (allocations) by Varietal by Market, Travel and Entertainment Budget, Schedule Winemaker(WM) and GM sales travels. In addition NSM will participate in strategic planning of both wineries along with the management team and attend as schedule allows monthly management meeting with management team, monthly staff meetings, annual planning retreat and quarterly business review (P&L including revenue and expenses) with the GM.

Primary Responsibilities:

Administration:

  1. Annual Budget, Sales Plan and Travel / Entertainment Plan
  2. Supervise Eastern Regional Sales Manager
  3. Achieve annual revenue budget for all domestic FOB markets
  4. Written Quarterly Market Summary (broken down by Market / Channel) with actual vs. budget and variance report
  5. Communicate (written) allocations by varietal, release schedule, pricing, goals and distribution objectives to PlumpJack/CADE Administration, distributors and brokers
  6. With PlumpJack/CADE Controller ensure Brokers and Distributors are current with wineries A/R Policy
  7. Approve A/P Bill Backs from Brokers and Distributors
  8. Develop market education and pull through strategies
  9. Develop (quarterly) Key On-Premise and Off-Premise Tracking System by Market
  10. Develop (monthly) Depletion Report Reporting System
  11. Coordinate and Encourage with PlumpJack/CADE Marketing and Hospitality Staff Distributor, Broker and Key Account visits to Wineries
  12. Participate in Annual Marketing, Positioning and Collateral Material Plan Development
  13. Participate in Annual Public Relations Plan Development
  14. With PlumpJack CADE Marketing develop contact list by market and by channel for email direct communication on a quarterly basis
  15. Make Recommendations for any new distribution and/or changes to GM

Sales / Travel:

  1. Travel to Key Markets(two weeks per month) to ensure sales and distribution goals are achieved per Sales and T / E plan
  2. Attend Key Market Trade Shows
  3. Attend Charity, Consumer Wine Tastings and Dinners
  4. Ensure communication and awareness of PlumpJack and CADE Annual Marketing and Communication Objectives are achieved.
  5. Conduct on- going training tasting for key on-premise and off premise accounts.
  6. Conduct on-going training and tasting for all PlumpJack Properties and PlumpJack Properties and PlumpJack Management Group

Experience and Skills Required:

Must have minimum five years experience with National Sales Management Experience. Candidate will be able to show a track record and have the ability to achieve growth and success along with profitability. Computer proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and AMS. Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills. Must be a team player and have the ability to problem solve, prioritize and get things done in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to travel and work weekends as necessary.
